Frequently Asked Questions About Waxing
Whether you’re new to waxing or returning for maintenance, here are the most common questions we get from our clients.
At Madre Health and Beauty Waxing Boutique, we specialize in Brazilian waxing and men’s back and shoulder waxing. Our most popular services for male clients include back and shoulder wax, back, chest, and shoulder wax, and back, shoulder, and half-arm wax.
Waxing removes hair from the root, so it’s normal to feel a quick sting. We use gentle, hard, and soft wax and prioritize comfort—especially for first-timers. Our private boutique setting in Centennial makes the experience comfortable and discreet.
Hair should be at least 1/4 inch long (about the size of a grain of rice) for best results. Avoid trimming too short before your appointment.
Yes. We tailor each service to your skin type and use soothing aftercare products to reduce irritation. Many of our clients with sensitive skin find waxing more comfortable than shaving.
You can expect smooth skin for 3–5 weeks depending on your hair growth cycle. Regular appointments help slow regrowth over time.
We usually count by week. You’ll need to wait at least 3 weeks after your last wax before scheduling another appointment. Your hair must be long enough for waxing. If you arrive with hair that’s too short, I won’t be able to perform the service and you’ll need to reschedule. Please make sure your hair is long enough before coming in to avoid wasting your time.
We recommend waiting at least 24 hours before intense activity, as sweat and friction may irritate freshly waxed skin.
Yes!
Before waxing: Exfoliate gently and avoid lotions or oils on the day of your appointment.
After waxing: Avoid hot showers, sweating, and sun exposure for 24 hours. Exfoliate a few times a week, using serum to prevent ingrown hairs daily and use a few drops of the coconut oil couple time a week for hydration.
